Marilyn Monroe as you've never seen her before
This previously unpublished photograph shows Marilyn Monroe on the cusp of stardom.
Then known by her real name of Norma Jeane, she started out as a model after a photographer spotted her working in a Second World War munitions factory. This image was taken from a Valentine's Day promotion in the 1940s.
Shortly afterwards, she changed her name to Marilyn Monroe and went on to become a Hollywood leading lady with starring roles in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and The Seven Year Itch.
